MY JEWELLERY COLLECTION | PART THREE

My final jewellery instalment features the one thing I can never, ever go a day without - my ring collection. I am forever asked why I wear so many and have sarcy comments thrown at me all the time like, 'do you have enough rings?!' I remember leaving them at home once after getting up for work at 6am, far to tired to remember putting my jewellery on. That day was excruciating, I constantly felt naked and kept getting in a state of worry thinking I had lost them somewhere. They are the only thing I could never go a day without, so every time I leave the house I check them off my imaginary list - phone, wallet, keys, rings...

As for why I wear so many, I honestly don't know. I've never though about it before so excuse me while I try to figure it out... Maybe it's a hobby, collecting different pieces and spending money I've worked hard for on something I can treasure forever. I also think jewellery adds to personality and style. As I love rock 'n' roll, having a skull and cross bones seemed appropriate, but if I wore a huge sparkly number it wouldn't be me, so they definitely add something to personal style (future husband take notes). I think men like Johnny Depp and Keith Richards encouraged me to start wearing rings at a young age. These were the two men that got me into over sized shirts, head scarfs and wide brim hats, so they probably influenced my jewellery obsession too. There could be many reasons as to why I cover myself in jewellery, but all I know is it's a great passion of mine and makes me truly feel myself.

On to the rings themselves, I'm going to rave about Bloody Mary Metal just one  more time. BMM haven't only been the source of my necklace, but they've also made a mark on my rings. I'm wearing the classic Crossbones ring which has become stupidly popular within the past two years. Every blogger keen on filling their fingers is probably wearing one of these, and if not this one then another from their beautiful website. Since shooting these photos I got gifted the Ziggy ring as a leaving gift from my friends back in Bristol. It matches my necklace and I'm so smitten with it.

My skull was bought in Barcelona as a joint purchase with my boyfriend. We wanted something we could have as a memory from our trip, luckily we both had wanted a skull for a while so it seemed like the perfect choice, and suited us both down to the ground. Having this skull has made me lust over The Great Frog and their incredible handmade pieces even more though. I'm so eager to save and buy one from their collection, but it'll take a lot of saving for one of those.

The ring that graces my wedding finger - I know, I've cursed myself; belonged to my grandma. I had it passed down to me and it's quite honestly an item I treasure most. Everyone should be blessed enough to have a piece of jewellery that has been handed down in their family for years, it's a special feeling and I'm so fortunate to be trusted with it. This is the only gold piece I have in my collection but I love that, it makes a statement and stands out from the rest. It's also quite strange that the diamond is black, which happens to be something I'd like my wedding ring to have, still taking notes future husband?...

My other rings aren't as special, but I still love them. If you're looking to start up your own collection then these ones are far more affordable, but still super cool. Head to various high street stores like Brandy Melville and Topman for stainless steal and plated rings. Stay away from trendy, costume pieces and spend extra money on silver that wont turn your finger green or rust within a few weeks. You may think of pound signs when someone says silver or gold, but they aren't always on the pricey side. My turquoise stone ring from Brandy Melville was only £6, I've had it for two years and it's not shown any signs of wear or rusting, that's because it's aluminium free! My thumb ring is ancient and from Topman, known for it's cheap and cheerful jewellery. Again, it's still in perfect condition. I suggest hitting up the sales and finding some cheap bits to try out before investing, Topman being one I really recommend. The high street can honestly be an absolute savour at times!

THEIR STYLE WITH DYLAN ANDREWS | 9.11.16

Welcome my first instalment of my new series, 'Their Style'. I wrote a post a few weeks ago all about it, so you can get up to date here. I've decided to make my first post about a friend of mine that to me, is the perfect epitome of the nineteen-nineties style. That's Dylan, Dylan embodies the nineties from his second-hand garms to his boy next door face, which might I add was an absolute dream to shoot. I've wanted to take  his photograph for a while now as I adore the way he styles himself on the daily. He's always cool and casual without looking too put together, just like I imagine a kid from that era doing in their tight Levis and checkered shirt which is a basic combo, but on the right person can slay. I feel like being able to always look stylishly laid back is a natural trait, so lucky you Dylan, you master it perfectly. Let's see what he has to say about his own personal style...

C: Hey Dylan! So let's jump right in with some fashion talk. I'm currently having a moment for the skate culture around Bristol, I'm obsessed with how they all look so cool in too short trousers and 5 panels. I know that I could never pull it off of myself, but I'm still into it. I'm interested to know who or where is inspiring you at the moment?

D: Berlin is by far the most inspiring place I've been to, I've been debating moving there. The art scene is live and the nightlife is on another level. I'm also a fan of how diverse the fashion is there, I think they're a lot more creative and comfortable with experimenting with clothes than we are in the UK

C: I've never been to Berlin but I'm dying to go. On the subject of being inspired with fashion, who do you look to for style inspiration?

D: My dad, not that I would ever tell him! His clothes are unintentionally cool, I'm always rummaging through his old clothes whenever I go home

C: Other than your fathers closet, where do you tend to buy most of your clothes from? I'm really into vintage again, and I know you always have a vintage garm on you somewhere!

D: Yeah, mostly charity shops or eBay! My mums eBay addiction has rubbed off on me for sure, the only shop I ever really buy things from is Topman, partly because of my staff discount, plus their jeans are the best. Charity shops are where you find the sickest clothes, surprisingly the charity shops back in wales are where I find the best stuff!

C: You can find some amazing items hiding in those places! What do you think the most loved piece in your wardrobe is?

D: Probably my black suede jacket, it's covered in stains but I still can't stop wearing it! I just tell myself it adds to the character

C: You can't go wrong with suede! As nice as that jacket sounds, what's the one item you would long to own?

D: I've been looking for a Tommy Hilfiger denim jacket for so long, I've found some decent ones on Depop but they're always so overpriced

C: Tommy Hilfiger just makes me think of everything from the nineties, your style really takes on that era, wouldn't you agree?

D: I am a big fan of 90's fashion. I'm keen on how casual and thrown-together the outfits looked back then, nothing seemed to be overly thought out or planned and I think that's how I dress myself for sure. I'm not one for planning outfits the night before, I think that sometimes when you chuck together an outfit before you leave the house it could potentially be a massive fail but on the flipside you could stumble on a fresh new outfit that you wouldn't have otherwise put together! Plus for me it's a massive deal for my outfit to match my current mood so planning just doesn't work!

C: I couldn't agree more, I tend to plan for occasions but that's about it! I like to see where my mood takes me. I think we've nailed fashion down for now so let's talk music for a second. What's currently playing on your iPod?

D: I have Banks' new album 'the Altar' on repeat at the moment, 'Gemini Feed,' 'Train Wreck' and 'Mind Games' are stand outs. I'm also loving NAO - 'Inhale Exhale', Mura Masa and A$ap Rocky - 'Love$ick' and also James Blake and Bon Iver 'I Need a Forest Fire'

C: I've seen that Bon Ivers back on the scene but have heard mixed feelings towards his new album '22, A Million', I'm yet to give it a go, have you heard it yet?

D: I have, and I'm a big fan. I think the problem is that everyone compares anything he makes with his first album. Nothing could ever match 'for Emma, forever ago.' It's one of my favourite albums of all time for sure. But I think there's still something special in his new material, it just needs to be appreciated as a separate body of work

C: I'll have to give it a listen! With the music that you do love, does it influence the way you dress at all? I'm heavily influenced by the rock and roll culture from the past 60 years, it's a huge part of my life, and I feel like my style definitely reflects that.

D: I think it does in the sense that my music taste is quite varied and massively depends on my frame of mind, and I think my style is the same. I'm also keen on finding new unsigned or underground artists which I guess is similar to my love of finding weird things in charity shops!

C: Let's leave with a word of fashion advise shall we! If you could say one thing to someone who is struggling with their style at the moment, what would it be?

D: Don't over think it! Wear what you like and what you think you look good in, don't let other people's opinions overrule your own!

JAGGER JACKET | 20.10.16

If I'm going to try my hand at some DIY and customise something, I was obviously going to plaster it with a Stones reference, wasn't I? I'd toyed with the idea of writing a lyric on the back or to stick with the classic lick, but went for something completely different that I hadn't seen done before. I'd been thinking of getting some t-shirts made with this logo on the front, but as I'm not a t-shirt designer with her own business, I decided to get some paints out and make my own in jacket form. The jacket was an outfit idea I had come up with for London Fashion Weekend which I attended with my good gal pal Kristina. I always tend to go for an outfit that's true to my style for occasions like these, but also try to incorporate a trend in there too. So as customising your outwear is everywhere at the moment, I decided to give it a go!

Top - Newlook
Shirt - Topman
Trousers - Topshop (similar style)
Shoes - Converse All Star
Jacket - Vintage (customised by myself)
Badges - Primark and vintage
Necklace - True Rocks via Jewel Street*
Rings - Bloody Mary Metal and vintage

I've seen many customised versions of denim this season, the obvious favourite being Gucci and their nature inspired shearling denim jacket. Giving it a go myself was daunting when I first sat down with a needle and thread ready to sew on hundreds of sequins, but after many pricks to the finger I ended up with one killer piece of denim! I'm super happy with the result, even if I am still finding sequins on my floor weeks later. I'm also glad I stayed away from trendy florals and opted for something more 'me' as I've now made a really cool and personal piece that I'll be keeping forever.

I customised it just that little bit extra on the front as it was looking sparse compared to the party going on at the back. I hunted for some pins to use and struck gold in Primark with this enamel set, old costing me a tiny £3 for a set of five. Not all of the ones in the set were to my taste though, so I replaced them with my vintage Playboy and The Rolling Stones badges, which matched perfectly and added more personality to the front. This is a really easy way to make an item more personal or unique. You can find basically whatever you're looking for on a button these days, even the crudest of quotes! I've seen a couple I like on Depop and eBay, but if you're looking for something really cool, then check out Banana Bones' Etsy shop which is filled with edgy pins that will look killer on any leather jacket - you can thank me later!

My main focus is of course my jacket, so I kept everything else quite simple. My crop flared trousers from Topshop make it a more laid-back outfit and are the perfect length with high-top converse. I've also added some pattern in their with my chucks that match my star print shirt because you can never have enough of that print!

I've definitely caught the DIY bug now, I'm finding myself searching for new ways to customise old pieces clothing. I might try my hand at another jacket, maybe going for a leather this time. For now though, my Jagger jacket will be perfect for winter when I'm feeling inspired after listening to Sticky Fingers all morning, which basically means I'll be wearing it all of the time...

ROCKER JEWELS | 23.8.16

I recently did some shooting with my pal Chloe Upton who works for a dreamy company called Jewel Street, also known as 'the uk's no.1 designer jewellery website', super fancy! Jewel Street are a company that withhold a complete range of jewellery from across the globe in locations like Brazil, Hong Kong and Australia to name a few, pretty impressive don't you think? Their site is a portal of beautiful accessories that I long to own, I often have dozens of necklaces and rings that hang about on my body but nothing quite as exquisite as these. I've always said that jewellery is personal and the fact I've come across True Rocks excites me to no end. A lot of the time it's hard to walk into a shop and find a piece that isn't covered in diamonds in the shape of a butterfly (yeah, not my thing!), so finding a brand that creates the ultimate rocker pendants is music to my ears.

Shirt - Topman (similar)
Shorts - Depop unbranded
Hat - H&M
Belt - Primark
Large Deep Purple Enamel and Rose Gold Pill Pendant - True Rocks via Jewel Street
Large Yellow Gold Safety Pin Pendant - True Rocks via Jewel Street (similar)
Portobello Yellow Gold Rose Cut Diamond Star Starry Night Earrings - London Road Jewellery via Jewel Street

Photography by Chloe Upton - Visual Stylist and Photographer - Instagram

I look at their collection and envision inspiration taken from ladies like Alison Mosshart and Kelly Osborne. I could picture Alison swooshing her hair back and forth while the safety pin pendant swings carelessly from her neck, or Kelly making her all black outfits look even edgier with a gold guitar pick. It's a brand that I'm on board with and am dying to get a collection going, starting with the two necklaces I'm wearing. The first being my deep purple and rose gold pill pendant, which comes in various other colours like a beautiful emerald green or even solid metals. It's hard to decide which I like best so I'll take them all, cheers! Secondly, we have the large safety pin in yellow gold that you can buy in smaller sizes and also colours. These two pieces make a statement on their own and even more so together, if I lived in a pit of money I would have at least four dangling from my neck at all times.

As well as being spoilt rotten by being able to wear some of True Rocks unique pieces, I also had the pleasure of making my ear lobes look pretty with a pair of London Road earrings. It makes me feel dizzy when I think of having 9 carat gold and diamond encrusted stars in my ears but it was a magical experience that makes me want to start earning big time money so I can spend it all on pricey jewels. I agree when people say it's worth spending a great deal of money on your jewellery, I own a hefty amount of Bloody Mary Metal so I definitely need to expand my horizons with some other great brands that we have at our fingertips on websites like Jewel Street.

THREE DAYS IN LONDON | 6.6.16

It was about time I had a break from the norm and have a little get away if only for a few days. It was a joint decision from me and my best(and boy)friend, who was also massively up for some time off. London isn't quite as adventurous as New York or as warm as a beach in Greece but it's something. I'll go anywhere and no matter now many times I've been to London i'll always enjoy it, even more so in good company.

We were lucky enough to stay in Stockwell which was the perfect location to relax in after a hectic day in the centre of all the madness. Suprisingly, on the journey there you can actually enjoy a quiet tube ride after the Victoria stop had past, what a luxury! Thanks to Kierans brother we got to rest out heads in his lovely home just a few shorts minutes from the tube. He left out breakfast for us in the morning and gave us great recommendations for coffee and breakfast spots in Brixton, which was handy as the pair of us can't function without a cup in the morning. It felt like our own Airbnb and if their home was listed I'd be giving you all a link and them a great review with many stars, thank you for the stay!

On our first day we did the real mainstream thing and took ourselves to Oxford Street for some high street shopping. Being two Topshop and Topman workers we had to see what the flagship had to offer, it's sort of our duty. Before getting too wrapped up in shopping we headed to The Diner on Carnaby Street which is where I usually go to stock up on carbs for a big day ahead as they do a mean plate of pancakes which is surprisingly hard to find back in Bristol. We just shopped, shopped and shopped some more until all of the viscose shirts had been browsed then headed back to our tempery home for a plate of home cooked food and a decent nights sleep.

Day two was sure to be a good one as we were finally about to feast our eyes on The Rolling Stones exhibition, Exhibitionism. Without sounding like too much of an obsessed fan, I have honestly never been so excited for anything else, ever. You don't have to be a genius to know that The Stones are one of my greatest passions in life, it's pretty fucking obvious. I've planned a post about the exhibition in full which should be posted in the upcoming week so I won't go on any further, but if you are a mega fan then head to the Saatchi Gallery pronto!

After an emotional hour and a half of gallery viewing we headed in the direction of Southbank for a stroll along the riverside and a quick pop into Tate Modern, and by that I mean quick enough for me to use the bathroom and to walk around a couple of rooms. It didn't quite hit the spot the same way Exhibitionism did, sorry modern art. We did end up in yet another Topshop though where I scored some amazing flared dungarees, which I was very much feeling after seeing Keith's tour wardrobe earlier that day, swings and roundabouts!

Another day with a crazy amount of walking done and all we could think about was food, which to be fair is what we think about 80% of the time anyway. Kev (Kierans brother) recommended a pizza joint in Brixton called Franco Manca which sounded amazing and definitely met our expectations. It was located within a market in the heart of the ever cool Brixton and despite being in London it had a real authentic feel to it, if you didn't look at your surroundings too much it genuinely felt like being back in Rome. The Pizza, more importantly, was unreal. So unreal that Kieran stated it was the 'best he'd ever eaten' and that's coming from a man whose had plenty in his lifetime. For me, it was up there and that's coming from a girl whose tasted real Italian baked circles of doughy goodness straight from the heart of Italy. Basically, we highly recommend it. We ended the night having a drink in some trendy new bar in Brixton that I didn't catch the name of but Kieran had a Ziggy Stardust cocktail that impressed us a great deal despite it should of being called Aladdin Sane...

Our final day in London featured a trip to the eastern side of town where we ended up wondering around Shoreditch for most of the day. Like complete 'hipsters', we went to all of the vintage stores that are plonked in the Brick Lane area. They didn't have much to offer other than a motorcycle print shirt for yours truly, I'm also still dreaming about a pair of Led Zeppelin shorts I saw that had been crafted from an old tour t-shirt, I really regret not slipping my butt into those babies.

Day three came to an end and it was time to get head back home in style via Megabus, hoorah! It was a glorious few days away from our busy lives and it gave us time to be in a romantic holiday bubble for short while. Time to plan our next adventure and this time make it longer and hotter!

SOCCER MOM | 9.5.15

Don't even bother lying to yourself by dissing my choice of song for this post, it's a classic and goes swimmingly with my all-American (rejects, get it?!) look. Embrace your past emo self and enjoy three minutes of memories...

So I've figured out that wearing sports wear doesn't have to be sporty, you could opt for a serious soccer mom outfit like yours truly. Let me just pull the mini van round and we can go watch the boys play ball together? Cool. I'll also allow you to tell me I look like a referee in this shirt because a-las, it has already been said and I agree with the statement, it is full on referee chic. It's like I'm taking on a new meaning to sportswear and not wearing it to do sports in but to look like someone who just sits back, relaxes and watches the game instead.

Shirt - Topman (similar style), jeans - Primark, jacket - Topshop, boots - Topshop, cap - Topshop.

These New Era hats have fallen onto a lot of teens heads in the past week or so and I joined in as I'm a huge fan of a cap, they've definitely kick started my need for summer style and I'm not lying when I say it shielded my eyes from the sunshine, 5 degree sun but sun nonetheless! I'm now on a hat splurge which has got me looking out for some one of a kind vintage caps with city names or badges on. You know when you have the vision in your head and hunt high and low to make it a reality? That's the situation right now.

As I wasn't about to wear my sporty hat with a tracksuit I went for something more me which was a shirt and jeans as per usual. I may experiment in the near future with a pair of smart joggers if I'm feeling spontaneous but I'm actually really into this laid back look right now. Mixing smart with casual has always been one of my favourite styles to experiment with, like wearing a blazer with a pair of ripped up jeans for example. Taking away the smart vibes my jacket and shirt combo give out with a casual accessory adds a little fun and laziness to it! Plus, I'm totally into the all-American 90's look I'm giving off with this OOTD.

KEITH FOREVER | 22.12.15

How Keith is this shirt and hat combo? I Literally pinned an image of him wearing a very similar shirt about 30 minutes ago. Keith is my style hero always and forever but that's common knowledge by now. I found this slinky silk shirt in a charity store and it had mine and Keith's name written all over it.

Shirt - vintage, coat - Primark (old), jeans - Topshop, boots - Newlook, hat - eBay, rings - Topman.

I forgot how much I adore the colour purple and although there is something about it that reminds me of Chuck Bass (if you have never seen Gossip Girl then forget this sentence ever existed), it's a beautifully royal colour that should be seen way more often, especially in the form of a silk shirt.

I pulled one of my old wool jackets out of my closet for this outfit which came with free added dog hair, apparently. I'm always into colour clashing and mixing two rather royal colours together could not have worked better, it's also not that far from my usual dark colour palette so every ones a winner. Mr Chuck eat your heart out!

FYI this hat will not be coming off of my head for a while, sorry.

GIRLS IN GRIMMY | 26.10.15

I've walked past the Nick Grimshaw x Topman range nearly everyday since the launch on October 15th and it's been a painful couple of weeks let me tell you that. I fell in love with it when seeing a little sneak peek on social media after the preview party back in June. Monochrome goodness and leopard print at it's finest, It was obviously going to make me weak at the knees with all those rock star vibes. I read somewhere that he wanted it to be the kind of clothes a posh boy wants to wear to look scruffy and I love that idea, who wants to look prim and proper all the time? It makes me think of some teen that wants to go out and be a little naughty for the night and he should do it in one Grimmys patterned shirts instead of his freshly ironed Oxford. Go on, be a little messy and untuck that shirt.

Shirt - Topman, waistcoat - Vintage, jeans - Newlook, boots - Asos (Depop), hat - eBay, necklace - Topman, rings - Bloody Mary Metal

With the range being a pretty big hit in the men's department I had to put my spin on it by being my usual self and wear clothing 'made' for the opposite sex, and why the hell not? 'But it's a mans shirt' you say, blah blah blah I really don't care and neither should you. I think it's bad ass and I will wear it no matter what, fashion is about wearing what you want and how could I pass up this shirt? Well I couldn't, OK? Men's or women's if you like it, don it. Also, did you see Harry Styles wearing it? Of course that's going to make me want to wear it even more than I already did. I do wonder what Nick himself would think of a woman wearing or promoting his clothes though, would it be bad for his line or would he think it was cool? I like to think he'd enjoy it as much as I do because lets get real, gender isn't needed for a t-shirt or in general.

The collection looked dreamy on both Nick and Harry and it's completely my sort of thing too. I love the leopard print coat so much I've had it looming over me for days now but am still yet to press the 'Buy Now' button which is what I usually do when I love something on a high level, thinking about an piece of clothing night and day is ridiculous but it is the jacket of my dreams, quite literally. As for the item I did go ahead and purchase though, I adore it and it's taken centre stage in my large stash of shirts. The shirt screams Styles so I really did have to wear my glitter booties with it, I tried to steer away but I just couldn't, it needed some brightness with a little girlie - grunge added to the mix, (these are all excuses if you couldn't tell) the perfect combination.

I do like Nick Grimshaw and let's face it his personal style is on point and totally the male version of mine at times so I was certainly going to be a supporter of his Topman range from the start. He really has out done himself and created some great one-off pieces that also make great outfits when put together, which is something I really like about it. You could wear any of the tops under any of the jackets and you're sorted.

Now listen Mr Grimshaw, although I don't have man-size feet I do think it's time you brain stormed some shoes because I'm sure they'll be just as rad as the rest of it. I'm thinking leather rocker booties that would make any indie band member proud to be seen in?! Time to get scrap booking!

TOPMAN | THE DENIM ISSUE | 9.10.15

Working for Topshop has many perks, discount being the best most obvious. Along with those perks includes a run through of current goings-on within the company, the most recent one being The Denim Issue. Denim being something I'm extremely into made me very excited about this. With it being Topmans first major world wide campaign, it's even the first time Topman has been seen on the side of buses did you know - I think it's been done perfectly, I love the fact that the first pretty big thing to come out of the brand is denim, oh how I love me some denim.

The selected photos are from topman.com

They've done so well from an online and advertising point of view, I really cannot fault it. I especially can't fault the lookbook that runs along side it which features some major laid-back seventies vibes and men with retro skater hair cuts that happen to make my knees week, and the advertising isn't even aimed at me! You've done this denim-obsesser proud and I really hope it broadens the horizons for many men out their that are stuck in a jean rut. Embrace the boot cut or even a pair of overalls if you're feeling extra brave. We all love seeing someone in a pair of skin tight jeans *heart eyes* but join the dark side, rock a pair of flares like it's 1975!

Take a look at the online campaign because it's actually very factual and interesting. It features a page on the History of Denim and some wise words from a couple of very cool gents. If that's not enough to make you go pant shopping then I don't know what is.

On the topic of very cool men, I'm also so excited for Grimmys range to launch online and in selected stores (please oh please let Bristol be one of those) as I have already picked a couple of things I will be buying when it launches. Hello leopard print coat and patterned shirts, you will be mine come October 14th! A major high-five to Topman needs to be had because they really are proving their true awesomeness at the moment.

CHANNEL YOUR PARENTS | 5.10.15

Whenever I wear flares I can't help but think of my beautiful mother, Mandy. Mandy, you remind me of a pair of pants - sorry about that! I don't know if it's because she does don a pair often of the fact that in those old family photos shes rocking a pair too I don't know but she looks fab in them whenever. It's time for me to finally wear a pair though and take a page from the parents book, I bet my dad wasn't shy of a few pairs of baggy denim pants either. My dad is mainly being channelled through my Stones t-shirt though, I always remember seeing his many albums in this cabinet which helped me fall in love with the band from a young age. So this outfit does remind me of the pair of them - how cute of me! What a loving daughter I am.

Top - Forever 21, jeans - Topshop, boots - Topshop (similar), jacket - Primark (similar), necklace - Topman, rings - Bloody Mary Metal

Enough gooey talk about them though and let's focus on this get-up. I don't want to blow my own trumpet and all but this outfit is very cool and who knew flares could be cool? Not many people that's for sure, the amount of hate I see about them in crazy - leave them alone! I for one adore a rad pair of bell bottoms and these ones I scored in the Topshop sale for £5, I think the correct word for that is WINNING! I do feel strange not wearing a pair of tight bottoms but it was quite a glorious change from the norm and I'm thinking these may be my new jean of choice for those days where comfort rules above everything.

A comfy rock 'n' roll attire wouldn't be complete without leather and leopard so my everyday leather jacket and one of my many pairs of animal print booties had to be worn to complete my new favourite look. You should go through your parents wardrobes and music stash (with their permission) sometime and see if anything inspires your way of dressing or even your music taste, who knows maybe your parents could potentially be cool too.

FAIRIES WEAR BOOTS | 21.9.15

I've seen so much 90's goodness going around at the moment with all the LFW madness surfacing, the Le Kilt show being my favorite so far but maybe I'll do a little round up from my couch in the next week or so because I'm not cool enough to witness it fully by going to the shows and actually photographing them myself, embarrassingly. I am heading to a cheeky little day next Friday though with my pal Kristina from Creepers and Cupcakes so I will be cool for 9 short hours I guess...

Top - eBay, skirt - Primark, jacket - thrifted, boots - Dr Martens, socks - Topman, sunglasses - my mothers

I've been wanting to wear this mad vinyl skirt for years, quite literally! I've had it hidden away in my draw and I completely forgot about it until recently when my shiny leather needs needed to be filled. I purchased it so long ago at Primark for a measly pound in the clearance section and like I said, haven't gotten any use out of it until now. I wanted something different to wear with my band t-shirts instead of my usual spray-on skinnies and saw the patient orange shining in the corner when I had my revelation, this will be worn and will look bad-ass! It's a pretty out there piece so I plan on wearing it completely casual for the most part, unless I'm feeling particularly darish of course.

Remember just then when I said I was loving the 90's thing going on at the moment? Well I brought some of that to this OOTD with my over-sized denim jacket and Dr Marten boots with visible sports socks for added Le Kilt vibes.

CASUAL MONDAYS WITH NICA | 7.9.15

Before we talk about how awesome this backpack is, I will just apologise for the lack of my face (lucky you) and outfit posts on the blog this past week. If you didn't know - I'm sure you do as a lot of moaning came from me, then I have had a pretty bad head cold which is also known as woman flu. But you know, I'm here now and have put some make-up on and graced the outside world with my presence! I still have a super sexy cold voice though, how lucky for you guys.

Dress - Newlook, shirt - Topman, boots - Next, sunglasses - Asos, backpack - Nica*
Let's not feel sorry for me too much though and get onto the real importance of this post which is my beautiful Nica backpack that I've been wearing non-stop since I got it. Backpacks remind me of that cool girl in college that even though shes not a young teen anymore, shes still going to rock her year 8 backpack because fashion. Backpacks are cool so that instantly makes me cool, don't you think? I can hear the sounds of you all laughing in the background, harsh.

I do love this thing though, it's so original and quirky and very much me. I love the faux pony hair detailing along with the embossed sides and the super cute navy pom pom, it's all so beautiful! Another quirky touch is that you can wear it over the shoulder or carry it in your hand with the handle on top, which is the way I've been wearing it most. It's really comfortable to carry and looks pretty good too.

I was lucky enough to be gifted it during my brunch with Nica herself a couple of weekends ago, you may of seen my post about it. We had a lovely day out and meeting Nica was really special, knowing my bag came from such a well loved company and from the mind of an inspirational woman like Nica makes this bag all the more special to me. It's from their new in collection for A/W and also comes in two other colours including a dark grey shade which is so perfect for fall and a light tan colour too. They've got some seriously lovely bags on the site so do have a little browse, maybe get yourself a new bag for the winter? You always need a new winter bag! There you go, I justified it for you which means you can buy yourself some winter gear! go you!

DIY (AND DOUBLE, OBVIOUSLY) DENIM

27TH JULY 2015
OUTFITS
LISTENING TOO: PINK FLOYD - WAITING FOR THE WORMS ♫
Top - Forever 21, jeans - Primark, jacket - Depop, shoes - Duo, hat - Primark, socks - Primark, watch - Topshop, ring - Topman.

Remember last week when I talked all about my new obsession with DIY denim? Well here's the first installment of that phase, and boy is it a good phase indeed because this jacket is pretty rad, is it not? Pink Floyd? Obviously! I also mentioned in that post about a few finds I found on Depop, this being one of them. I scroll through on a daily basis on the attempt to find some one-off pieces, especially in the music area as my top key words on Depop seem to be 'band tees' and 'ZZ Top' - I'm trying to find a tee similar to Kate's ZZ Top shirt which she found through Depop, it needs to join my collection pronto! I'm so damn jealous.

Nevertheless I've still found a couple of gems myself including this rad denim jacket with the coolest Pink Floyd patch sewn on the back, it was all of £9 too so double win on this one! Denim is very 90's and as it's me I had to throw on a pair of the same toned denim pants, so predictable Chloe, so damn predictable. I'm such a 90's cliche but I'm head over heels for anything of that era at the moment that anything else is just going straight past me. Don't get me wrong though I still love the 60's and 70's thing but right now my true 90's kid is coming out, it's also kind of the way my dad dressed back then too but let's skip right past that...

If you're on the hunt for some customized denim then you should take to Depop, I know a lot of people have issues with it but I'm yet to find one. I've found some great stuff in among some of the not so great over priced bits and I've been happy with all of it - so far. I'm currently selling some of my old clothes over on eBay but may convert to Depop myself so if you give my page a follow then you may see some old and loved items of my own floating around on there soon!

SAINT LAURENT S/S 2016

23RD JULY 2015
INSPIRATION >
All photographs from Vogue.com

We need to talk about this collection from the one and only Saint Laurent before I burst with joy. I cannot express my love for this runway show, every single one of the looks showcased perfectly sums up my ideal style. The amount of Cobain and Jagger vibes coming from it excites me to no end, it's unreal. As soon as I saw the chisele jawed male with Kurt Cobains hair and Mick Jaggers face, I melted, and it's not even about models personal appearance! They all ooze cool complete with 90's grunge vibes, I'm so obsessed. It feels like we've taken a step back to the night of a Hole concert and selected people from the audience to walk the catwalk. Think Aerosmith, Motley Crue and Poison all in one place, I know, I could fucking swear it's that cool, oh wait...

I don't know if a lot of you know this but I do have quite strong feelings towards a certain Cobain (I have the man tattooed on my arm) but we'll save that for another day when there isn't so many other men to talk about. I couldn't get over how much the gentlemen modeling the Saint Laurent garments looked like Kurt especially having long bleached hair and his iconic white sunglasses, it's almost uncanny. The cardigans, plaid shirts and converse just made up the look even more.

Not only is there an array of perfect mens clothing but there were a few womens looks that were just as awesome. They featured baby doll dresses with big chunky boots and leather with the occasional neck wear - I mean, a bow-tie?! That reminds me of a phase I had where I wanted to dress in a suit and wear a bow-tie because men could so why couldn't I? I took 'menswear' to a whole new level and kitted myself out with a pant-suit from Newlook and a bow-tie from Topman and topped it of with a pair of black high-top converse, from then on menswear has always been a love of mine. This runway definitely gave me the chills and reminded me of how much I adore mens fashion.

Of course, I can't end this post without mentioning the patterned blazers, coats and obviously shirts. I am actually drooling. If only my bank balance allowed me to kit myself out in every single one if these looks then I could die a happy girl quite honestly. I haven't been taken back by a collection in what feels like forever so hats off to you YSL for making my knees week and my heart melt, you rule.

If you head to their website there's lookbook slideshow right on the homepage which I've been staring at for ages. So much inspiration on a fashion and photography point of view it's all just flowing right on out of me!

TOMBOY

7TH MAY 2015
OUTFITS
LISTENING TOO: LED ZEPPELIN - GOING TO CALIFORNIA ♫
Top - The Cove Boutique, shorts - Depop, socks - Topman, boots - Dr Martens, sunglasses - M&S., watch - Topshop, rings - Bloody Mary Metal and Topshop

Tube socks, band tees and Doc Martens, that'll do nicely for my inner tomboy.

I feel fifteen again whenever I wear my Docs as I used to wear them everyday to school, much to my teachers dismay (such a rebel I know). They've just had their 7th birthday and they're going to have many more because I want to be one of those older ladies who still rocks a heavy metal shirt and clumpy boots, maybe even by then I'll want the grey gone and go for some mad dye job like purple or jet black and be covered in tattoos that have gone all blurred and wrinkly. I'm completely cool with all of this, growing old gracefully and all that, if gracefully means being a seventy year old grunger that is!

As for tube socks, they're my new thing. They have a sense of the nineties skate scene and I will be wearing them with Vans and Converse because of that. I found these ones in Topman as they're a rarity in any form of woman's section unless you want to pay more then eight pounds - yes Urban Outfitters I'm looking at you! They sell them in a variety of colours like blue and green with the option of length also, I quite like the idea of ankle ones with trainers so I may try those ones next.

I can't not say a lovely big thank you to my buddy Kate for popping these wonderful shorts on her Depop forever ago as I still love and wear them to this day, so thanks girl! I still manage to fit my arse in them even if with a squeeze!

Time to mention the fact I'm wearing one of the best t-shirts to enter my closet, and probably my life. Cheers to The Cove Boutique for stocking such awesome stuff that I can't help but buy. You guys just wait till you see my other one (yes I bought two) it's everything and I'm sure you wont be shocked when you see what band is on that one, I'm so obvious it's stupid. You may remember a post I did a while back featuring another item from their glorious store, if not then you can have a read of that here and see what else they have to offer on their online store or Instagramas you can buy from there too, pretty good right?!

STREET COWBOY

6TH APRIL 2015
OUTFITS
LISTENING TOO: KID ROCK - COWBOY ♫
Top - Newlook, jacket - Forever 21, jeans - Primark, hat - Miss Selfridge, necklace - Topman, rings - Bloody Mary Metal & Topman

This seriously killer hat and jacket combo was totally not done on purpose. I bought this glorious shearling coat, which always tends to remind me of Bane (all of you Batman fans will understand) from Forever 21 last winter and it's probably one of my favorite jackets I own. I've never seen anything similar to this before, it's completely different and the colour is beautiful and don't even get my started on the buckles and collar, woah I do love this coat! I've mentioned before that I'm a bit of a coat freak, I have a wardrobe dedicated to them so saying this is my all time favorite is quite bold of me. It just has everything I love in outerwear, a cosy inside, a huge collar and loads of metal hardware. I think I have to evaluate my coats and decide which one I do in fact like the most, but for now this one is top!

Then, when wondering around Miss Selfridge I came across this equally glorious hat in among the left over sale stuff that no-one wants to make theirs. I had to take this one home because again, oh so glorious. It wasn't until I got back and hung it next to my coats I saw it was in fact going to be the best combo ever. They match perfectly and I feel pretty good about it, it may have been an instinctual thing but either way it was a good move on my part.

The perfectly matched twosome did make me feel a little western, sort of like a cowboy who wants to blend in with city life, so I thought I'd take the plunge and wear my tacky cow print slip on's which are so bad they're good. It doesn't get much more western than shoes which look like I've skinned a cow. I didn't they're from ASOS, I promise.

DOUBLED UP

2ND APRIL 2015
OUTFITS
LISTENING TOO: ONE NIGHT ONLY - PLASTICINE ♫ Top - Newlook, leather jacket - Primark, duster jacket - Urban Outfitters, jeans - Primark, trainers - Nike, sunglasses - Topman, cross necklace - Topman, rings - Bloody Mary Metal

A casual day out getting some lunch calls for an excuse to wear my new trainers. On Instagram I posted a picture of two big red Nike shoe boxes and one of them contained this pair I recently got from one of the outlet stores for nearly 70% off and was very happy with myself about finding such a gem! I've been eyeing up all black trainers for some time now and these ones fit the bill pretty perfectly. Nike always come up trumps with their trainers, weather you're looking for a seriously snazzy pair that stick out like a sore thumb a-la Kanye West, or if you're into the more minimalist sort then they definitely cater for you too. I always think it's worth checking eBay if you want a more rare pair or if you don't have a Nike store near you, as they can have some really unique ones at a decent price - if the seller isn't too stupid - and it's better then heading to your local Office or Schuh where it's all the same sort of thing.

These ones are perfectly suited for me, they're simple, easy to style and look that little bit retro. When I bought them the shop assistant gave them to me in a different shoe box to it's original so I'm not completely sure on the model of them, but I'm almost certain they're the Nike Pegasus, what number comes after them I do not know. What I do know, though, is that Amazon have a huge variety online so check them out!

As well as wearing a new pair of trainers, I tried out something else new today, a doubled up jacket. I really wanted to wear my duster coat for a bit of a Stockholm street-style vibe but new I would completely freeze so I had an a-ha moment and layered my leather jacket under it. I liked the look of the doubled lapels and mixed texture so this was another moment I was happy with myself for! Don't worry though I soon got knocked down a peg or two when I noticed I had rolled one of my trouser legs up and the other one down which made me look totally lopsided, thankfully this moment wasn't captured but it did leave me a little red-faced afterwards. I'm not all that wonderful!

AXL MEETS KEITH

11TH MARCH 2015
OUTFITS
LISTENING TO: GUNS N' ROSES - ESTRANGED ♫
Tee - Forever 21, shirt - M&S, leather jacket - Primark, jeans - Primark, booties - Topshop, bag - Topshop, bandanna - Claire's Accessories, rings - Bloody Mary Metal, necklace - Topman (similar).

I can't tell if rocking the Axl Rose bandana is a good look or a bad one. Perhaps the fact I have a center parting doesn't help, I'm just glad I'm no longer blonde else it could of been a whole different story. I felt like a mix between him and a love of mine, Mr Keith Richards. Not two of the worst people in the world I could of ended up channeling so I'm going to say it was an OK look to go for?

I was about to put my hat over my bandana like I usually do, but before I got the chance I heard a little voice coming from behind asking to see what it looked like without it (that was Dan helping me out when getting dressed this morning). I wasn't 100% sure if I could pull it off but being the 'why not' type that I am, I left the house with it on, although I did kind of want to get my air guitar out and start running about my imaginary stage like the pair of them all day!

Once I got over my desire to be a rock star I went with it and got out all things leopard and denim just to be that extra bit 90's. I teamed my Primark ripped knee jeans with a denim shirt for layering and added my leopard print Topshop mini bag and one of my all time favorite pair of booties. To top it all off, a leather jacket of course.
