HOUSE OF HEARTS BY SISTER JANE | PART TWO

It's time for my last instalment of my collaboration with

Sister Jane

, and I think I may of

unintentionally

saved the best till last? It's up for debate as my last two posts we're both quite something,

if I do say so myself!

It might seem funny to see me in such a feminine dress, I don't think I've ever debuted anything like this on my blog before, but that's not to say I'm not into it. In fact, after wearing this frilly number I'm now on the hunt for dresses similar that I can add to my wardrobe. I've always loved a ruffle, I even went on about my love of them in my

last post for Ghospell

,

so I'll try not to go on too much in this post, but that might be difficult because

HELLO

, look at this beautiful frilly dress of dreams!

Let me introduce you to the

Sour Cherry Tiered Dress

. This piece may be considered a little kid's dream dolls dress, I can imagine a toddler wanting to play dress up and ram raid their mothers make-up draw, their is a child-like feel to it which makes it even more beautiful to me. It's not often someone would have the courage to wear a dress like this, which is the main reason why I love it. It has a couture feel to it, an almost fancy dress element that makes it all the more magical. It's rare you see garments like this, but when you do you remember your youth and how fun it is to get dressed up and have fun with fashion again. It definitely took me out of my comfort zone, and that's my favourite thing about styling, if something makes me feel daring and confident then it's a winner for me. Challenging our style is so important, and I'm so glad I challenged mine with this look!

There are two big reasons as to why I was drawn to this dress, the first being the colour. My favourite trend and colour combo this season is certainly red and pink, which is quite bizarre as these used to be two colours I wouldn't often wear, let alone together! I always told myself I looked terrible in red, classing it as my least favourite colour, I even longed to be able to look good in red lipstick but told myself I could never pull it off. Now I've gotten over myself and realised I can wear what I want and not actually give a damn about what other people think, or more to the point how I tell myself I think I look when I actually look OK. It's a daring combo and I've seen many people turn their noses up at it, but I'm obsessed and will be mixing these two colours all through winter to bring a little vibrancy to my life.

The second reason being the style, it takes huge reference on designers like Gucci and Miu Miu with the shape and of course the glorious frills. It's a very British design and throws back to the Victorian era or style, where sheer overlaying and ruffled detailing where huge. I wanted to keep with the inspiration of designers like these and pair it with my new thing,

socks and heels

. For my first post with Sister Jane I teamed the

House of Hearts

suit with glitter socks and chunky heels, and this dress just had to be worn with them too but this time I swapped the grey glitter with pink. If you're going to wear a dress like this you've got to go all the way and style it daringly. I'm so in love with the entirety of this look, and now I've embraced what it feels like to wear a dress of this calibre, I'll definitely be buying pieces like it more often. It's without a doubt a show stopper and perfect for dinner dates and evening events, or of course everyday wear if you're feeling confident. I guarantee the feeling of self love and confidence come included in this dress, trust me when I say you'll be spinning around and dancing your way through the day once you've got this on, I certainly was (

but then when am I not?

).

WINTER PARADISE BY GHOSPELL

My

last post

featured

Sister Jane

, and this time it's all about their

sister

brand,

Ghospell

. When I went to the

Siser Jane

store I thought I'd only be greeted by rails of floaty dresses and patterned suits (

their staple product

), fact is I also got shown the new collection from

Ghospell

,

it was a total treat!

So, instead of picking a select handful of purely Sister Jane, I decided to try on some pieces from them as well. Turns out this one ended up coming home with me, or to the cabin shall I say. I'm a sucker for a frill, and this rusty orange shade is the most perfect colour for autumn, so I couldn't resist. A perfect piece to shoot in the warmth of our cabin we acquired of the night! So here it is, part two of my collaboration with the dream team that is Sister Jane and Ghospell...

Ghospell

recently launched their latest collection,

Winter Paradise

, which is filled with rustic hues, winter florals and of course a ruffle or two. Ruffles are huge this season, and perfect for any man or woman wanting to feel a bit Bowie circa 1970's. As the bohemian ruffles made me feel like it was an ode to Bowie, I wanted to team it with some trousers that I know he would of enjoyed. Say hello to my sequin flares of dreams that were made to be worn with  girlie frill!

This outfit borders on rock and roll with the sequins and flamboyant blouse, I could image rock stars like Alex Turner picking the shirt and Mick Jagger selecting the trousers, it's a bold mix and match outfit, but for me it totally works. If I was a front man this would be my stage outfit, but sadly every time I've picked up an instrument I've failed miserably, and boy have I tried! I'll stick to wearing this combo off stage and keep singing into my hairbrush in private, something I do all too often.

These flares are going to be my winter party piece. They're so easy to style because they do all the talking for you. Wear them with a basic t-shirt and your outfits pretty much made. I bought mine from

Topshop

, but since picking them up I've seen brands like

Missguided

and

Pretty Little Thing

jump on the hype. I think our Insta feeds will be filled with sequin OOTD's from here until January 1st and I'm excited about it! I can't wait to take these babies for a spin on the town, maybe I'll head to a karaoke bar and live my dream of wearing the ultimate front man attire on an actual stage with an actual real life microphone and not my Tangle Teaser. Maybe, but probably not...

Stay tuned for my next photo set which features even more

Sister Jane

and even more ruffle!

HOUSE OF HEARTS BY SISTER JANE | PART ONE

If there was ever a suit to give Harry Styles a run for his money, this would be it! Styles, move over, there's a new suit in town and it's

NOT

Gucci...

I got the glorious opportunity to shoot a select few items to celebrate the launch of new collection '

House of Hearts

' by

Sister Jane

. I was allowed a sneak peek at the lookbook before heading into their beautiful boutique store on Notting Hill's famous Portobello Road, so I knew before I even entered the building that I'd try and snap up this two-piece. Being a lover of all things tailoring (

and Harry Styles

), I knew I had to do a shoot in this suit. I'm all about bold prints and making a statement, and this outfit certainly turned a lot of heads when I took it for a ride at a party that was swimming with big fashion names. Safe to say it did it's job and a lot of people left with

Sister Jane

at the back of their minds, which apart from saying

hello

to Noel Gallagher (

we've got a name dropper over here!

), was my aim of the evening.

As well as wearing this suit to an event, I also took it with me on a short trip away. Harry spoilt me with a surprise visit to a beautiful cabin to celebrate our anniversary, and with me always having photo opportunities in my head, I obviously thought of all the great places to snap a pic or two. Our cabin was the perfect place to create my own little lookbook for

Sister Jane

. Their collection needed a vintage vibe with muted scenery to really make the pieces pop.

Sister Jane

as a brand hold a real sense of retro within what they create, so keeping with that theme was easy once settled into our cosy cabin for the evening. There were hints of seventies with the Marshall radio and kitch furniture, I really couldn't of found a better place to shoot! It was a photographers dream location.

I wanted to team the outfit with something I hadn't done for a good year or two, and that's socks and sandals. Ewe, socks and sandals? I know, it sounds like something your father would do on a beach holiday to Devon, but it can actually be done in a more ~

fashion

~ way. I wanted to ditch the boots and wear a heel, but wearing them as they were wasn't doing much for me. Adding a pair of glitter ankle socks just worked, and made the look more editorial and took it back a few eras. This has definitely sparked the urge for me to wear socks with any open-toe shoe I own, so prepare to see me in this combo all through the up and coming party season.

Honestly, this might just be the best outfit I have ever worn. I'm head over heels for the entire combo! There is also nothing quite like wearing the outfit of your dreams while being surrounded by woodlands, listening to Roxette and having pure love around you. I've never felt so special then I did this day. Thank you to Harry for taking me away for a much needed retreat, and thank you to Sister Jane for letting me look my best while there. I think I've hit my peak with this one, I don't think it gets much better than this...

This suit isn't all I managed to get my hands on though, I've got two more photosets coming up that I just cannot wait to share. If you're yet to visit the

Sister Jane

store, I highly suggest you take a trip. It's ideally located next to blogger fav café,

Farm Girl

, which means you can Instagram your brunch and then head in store and try on some dreamy garms.

'

House of Hearts

' has just launched online so you can browse from the comforts of your own home also!
