DISCO SUCKS

This

sequin dress

is probably the most out-there piece I have in my wardrobe, and I'm not one to shy away from OTT things. Flamboyant patterns and bright coloured clothes are a heavy theme with me, but now it's time sequins made their way into my life. This number is a total disco dream, even being a firm believer that disco

does in fact suck

, I'll still be boogieing in this insane

The Ragged Priest

dress on Saturday night - with no Bee Gee's records in sight. It's the perfect party dress and I'll be milking it every weekend I have plans taking place in a bar surrounding.

I decided to make it less disco and more 90's pop by taking inspiration from The Spice Girls, because I know both Baby and Scary Spice would've worn this on stage. Keeping in theme I teamed it with the chunkiest pair of boots I own, looking back I should of took it that extra mile and sported some space buns...

I'm all kinds of in love with this dress, it's perfect for the upcoming festival season, general party occasions, OR day-to-day if you're really gonna go for it. That's one thing I love about The

Ragged Priest

, they make unique clothing for the bad-ass babes of the world who have a complete '

I don't give a fuck

' attitude about their style. So you wanna wear a sequin dress on hump day?

Go for it!

Want to tell the world how you're feeling with a naughty slogan tee?

Don't blame you!

Their new collection is something else, featuring pieces from the

classic striped tee

(with that cheeky slogan), to

leather motocross pants

. To me, they are one of the coolest brands going and always pull some seriously incredible pieces out of the bag.

My current favourites from their SS18 collection have to be the pieces featuring the python print. I'm a total sucker for animal print of any kind, so seeing that they've branched out into this for their new season product has my eyes turned to hearts. I'm also mad about the hints of yellow running through the entire collection, with their

mustard leather jacket

taking pride of place, and a pair of mega

yellow pants

to follow. The use of denim is strong in this collection too, taking boxy silhouettes and manly structures to create cool shirt dresses and over sized pants.

As I'm yet to get my hands on any of the new season drops, I wanted to share this sparkly number with you instead. I got this a while back, but hadn't had the time to shoot it. Now I've waited so long it's gone into the sale, so you can bag

this

for yourself at half the price over on The Ragged Priest. Go on,

unleash your inner Spice Girl!

PINK IF I WANNA

All hail my favourite look to date! It might be the very Kurt Cobain vibe, it could be the stupidly cute and Clueless skirt or it could even be my new dream boots making their debut - OK so it's probably all of the above, who am I even kidding. When I chose this skirt, most of my colleges told me I was mad. Not everyone thought it was as cool as me, and they definitely didn't think it was something I'd choose to wear because

OH MY GOD, CJ WEARING PINK?!

It was a shock to everyone that I'd chosen something in this colour, but little did they know that I'd be styling it in a way that

was

me and I can totally wear pink if I want to, so screw you all.

It never sits right with me when people comment negatively on things you like because it '

wouldn't suit you

', or '

you've never worn anything like that before

'. Fashion is all about trying new trends and mixing up your style whenever you please. Hell no am I going to spend my days dressing the same and never try anything new. I mean,

yeah OK

one time I did buy a pair of fluffy sliders and it turns out they really weren't my thing. I tried them out because I thought they were sassy, and I know most of us have had many outfit fails in life, but we learn from that and will swear never place a flip-flop with grey faux fur on our feet again... Trends move on quick, and those gingham pants you wore last season might not be '

in fashion

' now, but I have the mind set of if you like it, wear it, no matter how last season it is or if no one else thinks it's your thing. If you love it,

then it is you

. Just because I spend a lot of my time in a monochrome pallete, doesn't mean I don't enjoy pieces like this skirt or these sunglasses. It's time to quit judging and let people wear whatever the hell they want!

Talking of sunglasses,

ASOS

are slaying the game with their summer accessories at the moment, they even have

these ones

I'm wearing in an array of different colours (

I have all of them, someone stop me

). I'm a complete hoarder when it comes to eye wear and I'm constantly refreshing the New In page to see if they've brought out more styles. This style of frame is my favourite, and the colour is perfect for adding fun to an outfit, not that the rest of the look isn't fun enough!

Other than my sunglasses, this entire look is from Topshop. I'd say half of my outgoings from the past two months have been spent in Topshop. It doesn't help that I spend thirty eight hours a week in one of their stores, of course. I can't help myself, their new season pieces are making my heart break and my bank account hurt!

I might of gone totally OTT with this look, it's definitely a case of fan girling as it's pretty obvious I enjoy Kurt Cobain, but I am honestly head-over-heels in love with every piece in this outfit, no matter how much I might look like a number one Nirvana fan.

MODERN ROMANCE | FAN CLUB CLOTHING

Last year I came across

Fan Club

, a brand that speaks to me on so many levels. As a brand they produce apparel for the '

muse makers and heart breakers

' of the world. Creating slogan jerseys with retro lyrics and feminist writings. Every time I wear one of my pieces from them, my Dad gets giddy and tells me all about the song related to it, like I didn't already know Bob Dylan sang '

Just Like a Woman

', or that '

Rumors

' is a very well known Fleetwood Mac song... I'm always here for a brand that uses music within their clothes, so Fan Club are slowly becoming my go-to for statement tops.

Not only are they acing their clothing, but they've been branching out into accessories which I'll be sharing with you all in the upcoming week - wait for it,

it's a knockout!

As a brand they are doing everything right, I'm waiting patiently for new product to be released and I can't wait to see how far they go. With all the cool girls of Instagram wearing their stuff, they are sure to go all the way to the top!

It only seemed fitting that I pair my

Modern Romance

sweat with a pair of leopard flares, because that's what anyone would do in the era of that band, at least that's what I would of done because

long live the 80's

. I don't necessarily think this sweat is a reference on the band, but I like to think it is. Either way it's a super cute piece and reminds me of something

Bella Freud

would create.

These

pants though, are the new loves of my life. It's not like I needed any more flares in my wardrobe, but when I see a beautiful pair of patterned trousers I have to snap them up right away, these ones were no exception. Leopard print and slogan tee's are the way to my heart, so this outfit could not be more me if it tried.

I've got so many radical pieces from

Fan Club

to share with you, and I know by the end of these blog posts you'll have bagged yourself at least one of their perfect tee's. What's even cooler about this brand (

not that it can actually get much cooler if it tried

) is that they are run and owned by women, something I always look out for when discovering new names on the block. You'll be hearing me chat a lot about them in my new content, so I'll leave some things undiscovered for now.

ONE FOR THE LADIES IN MY LIFE

This ones for my Mum, and all of the special women in my life. Today is Mothers Day, and this week we also welcomed back International Women's Day with open arms. This past week has been all about sharing our appreciation for incredible females, and even though I spend a lot of my time spreading the love in their general direction, I've certainly been feeling the love back recently. It doesn't take much to pay someone a compliment, and it will only cost five minutes of your time to send a nice text to a loved one, so there Is no reason we can't all take the time to share the thoughts we have in our hearts on any day of the year,

not just these dedicated days

.

As I've grown older, I've learnt that saying a few nice words to a person can give a lot of joy to both parties. I adore sending positive vibes and making everyone feel warm and fuzzy, and getting it in return can be just as nice. I know not a lot of us enjoy being given a compliment, it certainly makes me blush and go from 0-100 on the social awkwardness scale. But I've learnt to embrace it and take it all on board by appreciating myself more.

On IWD, I had so many beautiful messages from females I know both in real life, and through the internet. I was feeling warm inside all day, and to be honest I have never in my life felt more great about myself as a person. Knowing a few people enjoy what I do and embrace my personality is honestly incredible and I couldn't be more grateful for it.

Blogging is a difficult community to get my head around sometimes, there's a lot of negativity surrounding it and I struggle to handle those bad vibes. I hate the competitiveness and pettiness, and honestly I have felt that in my own life recently. I am a teeny,

tiny

blogger on the big scale of things, I'm barely even a blogger if you think about the other amazing people that put their heart and souls into it, working full time to produce their content.

But

, I am still a creative and I have suffered with the online struggles that come along with it. I have turned a leaf and realised that it's not about the hate and the conflict, the people that bring you down are not the ones you need to keep in your life. I had my moment of realisation when I received these direct messages, and I thank you to those who sent them, because you have honestly changed my view on myself and the life I lead.

So with that I want to say a big personal thank you. Thank you to everyone who supports me and has made me the way I am today. I love and appreciate so many of you, the ones I have met since the start of my blogging journey, and the ones that I've known since the beginning of my young adult life. And of course,

my Mother

.

Happy Mothers day, you rock my world. I decided to share these images with this post because we're taking a trip to see The Rolling Stones this year, and there is no one else I'd rather go with. I'm seeing my dream band with my best friend, and I am completely grateful for that. For those of you who aren't spending this day with your parent for one of many reasons, then spend your day fulfilling other people with all of the love you have to give, because it's not just Mothers who need it on a day like today.

I also want to say thank you to

Kaye

, who shot these images and all of my new content for me. She is incredibly talented and someone I want to give my appreciation to this week. Thank you for slaying these photos, I am so over the moon with them and all of the work you create! I ended up spending IWD with her and a few of my other favourite ladies which brought so much joy to my day.

I LOVE YOU ALL!

ALMOST FAMOUS

Wearing rainbow stripes is a serious trend right now, and while I've always been into striped clothing, only in the recent years have I expressed my brighter side in the way that I dress. I always say that I only ever wore black, light black and sometimes grey (a very dark shade of grey might I add) and it's true, you'd never of seen me wearing an outfit this bright six years ago -

although

you'd definitely of seen me in these Dr Martens

. But, six years ago I was a different person who only ever cared about the grunge phase I was in, now I'm older and into the idea of actually wearing these colours. I've got to say that wearing an entire look made up of only the deepest shade of black doesn't quite thrill me the way it used to.

I've seen numerous versions of rainbow tops, but this one stood out for me the most. Maybe it's the '

Almost Famous

' text on the front that swung me? Is it a reference to iconic 00's film of that name, or is it a dig at the people who think they are something they're not? It's an up-in-the-air debate right now and either way I love it.

The Ragged Priest

always pull through on unique pieces like this, pieces that no other brand is making, by creating items that are original and totally un-seen before. It's a brand I always look out for and have enjoyed for years. They really fit in to the '

cool, edgy girl on instagram

' vibe that is everywhere at the moment, and not a look I turn my nose up at (

because I wish I was that cool girl on Instagram

). Pairing it with my knee length

Dr Martens

was a good choice, wearing it with no tights in January was not. The sun setting just in time for taking these photographs makes it look far warmer than it was, and wearing these sunglasses helped a lot too. The trick is to think you're somewhere sunny and the goosebumps will eventually disappear, and it's totally worth the freezing cold temperature when you've got some killer garms to shoot in!

POWER TO PLAYBOY

When some people think of

Playboy

they think of pornography, cheap, dirty pornography. But, I'm a firm believer it's a magazine that embraces woman and their bodies. Granted, it's risque and can be seedy at times but whats wrong with the way we decide capture the naked body anyway?! Whether it's full nude or not - it's art, it's daring and it's cool. Some of my favorite ladies have graced the covers of their magazine, looking flawless and doing it for girl power. It gets a lot of stick but for me it's a powerful publication that I stand by. We need to forget about the men behind it and look at all of the amazing work and imagery these woman have created by showcasing their powerful bodies and not giving a fuck. I've looked up to these ladies for years and always adored their courage and confidence, these include models like

Ashley Smith

,

Zippora Seven

and

Taylor LaShae

to name a few. I aspire to be like these powerful individuals and seeing them achieve a goal like this is inspiring and great for my personal self confidence. Another strong reason to enjoy Playboy is the care free mentality towards models and their size, by using incredible '

plus size

' women like the unreal

Molly Constable

. We read fashion magazines and view the photo spreads within them, but nudity isn't there, females are covered and the chance of seeing a plus size model is unlikely. Times are changing and we need to move with it, freeing a nipple or exploring peoples unique beauty needs to become the norm and not something we turn our noses up at.

Playboy is that publication for me

.

People spend their lives being shocked and disgusted about the way we choose to display our bodies, whether it's through the power of social media or even the way we dress. Wearing a crop top or a pair of shorts just that bit too short can make people tut and sigh, but why do we care so much about what others think? I use my platforms as a way to embrace my body and I spend most of my time on these sites commenting with love about these images that showcase the beauty of these people. I'm pro nudity in any form, be it through art or through lifestyle. I don't turn my nose at a photo on Instagram that shows too much boob, or feel ashamed when I see a nipple. We need to take away the blur and not care about those who find our bodies so damn offencive.

You know what the sad thing is? This outfit might be deemed as '

too sexy

' because I'm broadcasting Playboy and I choose to wear a pair of tight leather trousers. But my care level is at zero and I'm expressing myself and my opinions though the power of fashion. We have these tools around us and the clothing to help us become the people we are. I'll often wear a motif tee with a powerful expression on, and I'm forever wearing the same leather jacket that is covered in badges that promote LGBT and peace. This is who I am and I want to share it with the world, not hide it because I'm afraid of what others might think of me.

If you are passionate about something and want to shout about it, then do it! We have a voice that is made to be expressive, so don't hide and think about all these things you could do but won't because of the fear of judgement. Your opinions might be different to mine, and

that's OK too

. The beauty of the human race is our difference in personalities so express it with true pride!
