After our two night stay in Peníscola, we were left without a place to rest our heads. We contemplated staying in our car, but a Fiat 500 doesn’t hold much room for two people over 5ft9. We happened to book a boutique hotel last minute, which happened to be one beautiful building situated in an even more beautiful town. It was in the centre of the lovely little town a short journey away from Sitges, we ended up staying there and soaking up the traditional Spanish environment.
For such a last minute decision, it was so lucky we found the hotel we did. It was an old building with a few rooms, a private swimming pool and we just so happened to be the only people staying there. We basically had the house to ourselves, the owners left us to it, we checked in and that was the last we saw of anyone for our whole stay there. We then spent the rest of our day getting tipsy on wine surrounded by locals!
Feeling surprisingly fresh in the morning, we packed our bags and headed back to where it all started - Barcelona. I wanted to spend our last day here, so we could have one last walk around the city before catching our flight the next day
Heading home is always sad, but this time it hit me hard. Since returning I’ve wanted to go back and do it all over again! Some people get homesick, but I never do. I could happily spend the rest of my days living like a local! This was a perfect trip and one I will remember forever - same again next year?!
