Round two of Missguided X Playboy has landed, and this time is was better than the first. We know I’m a firm lover of Playboy, especially in recent days. I wrote a little about it in my last lifestyle post, which you can read here if you missed it. So, anything that has the old-school Playboy logo or a graphic of one of their retro covers would easily win me over. I know a lot of people hate it, find it tacky and it reminds them too much of growing up in the early 2000’s, but for me it’s so much more than that. Supporting the publication and females expressing themselves is what it’s about, it just helps that their covers and clothing look good too.
In the first drop of the collection I bagged myself an extremely oversized hoodie, which I love but it’s so big and unflattering that it’s mainly used for those lazy days where you don’t really care about looking a little mad. This time, I learnt my lesson and realized that if something states it is infact already oversized, there is no need to buy two sizes bigger. I went for the bright orange sweater with the back graphic, and I adore it. Anything orange is a must in my wardrobe, it’s a colour I don’t wear often but have always loved. It’s a retro colour and goes with neautral tones which helps me get out of my usual monochrome vibes.
While browsing the drop, I also got heavily distracted and found these taupe coloured flares. If me and you go way back, then you may of seen I already have these in black. I love my black pair and wear them a lot, this colour was a step out of my confort zone but I knew they’d work so well with this sweater.
Although this looks like an outfit a Spice Girls fan would wear (guilty), I do think I’ve kept it a little more old school with the colour pallete, hexagon shades and of course a flare pant. I love streetwear, but it’s not a look I always don. Mixing it up and pulling pieces from my favourite eras is what I like doing best.
