So, let's get straight into it because this is probably THE vintage outfit to end all vintage outfits, right? Have you ever seen a look as glorious as this?! I'm so excited to share these images with you, because this is one seriously incredible OOTD. Me and Holly saw this amazing dress as soon as we entered Bear Heart, it caught our eye and we knew we just had to shoot it. We thought it would need a floral backdrop, something more scenic and forest-like, so we shunned it for a while. Then I remembered a photo I saw of Florence Welch, where she was strolling around London in a dress very similar to this, instantly I grabbed it and had to find something to style it with. Low and behold, we found the perfect jacket to pair with it. The dress on it's own is beautiful, but the jacket adds the perfect amount of bohemian to make it more wear-able and street-style. As flawless as the dress is on it's own, it's a bit too feminine for my style and I definitely needed some edge to make the outfit more me. Of course a jacket with tassel's and Aztec detailing on was the right amount of edge to make it something I would happily wear every single day of my life... I'm just obsessed!
It's so hard to find one off jackets like this one, which is just another reason as to why I'm so in love with shopping vintage, but I won't go into that again... Although, I will say it did remind me of something The Kooples or Isabel Marant would produce, but we all know they aren't the most purse friendly brands. Other than high end designers, where else would you find an outfit as incredible as this?
I'd be lying if I said vintage isn't expensive sometimes, I've been into many stores where they bump they prices so it's basically like shopping the more expensive side of the high-street, which isn't what you always want from retro goods, but when you know it's a piece no one else would be wearing it makes it so much more unique and special so you don't mind spending the extra cash.
As out-there as this outfit is for me, I'm just so in owe of it. I felt cool and kind of beautiful while wearing it. It's definitely opened my eyes and made me want to invest in more dresses for A/W. I only have dresses that barely cover my arse (because I'm 5'9, not because I love my cheeks being on show). I'm thinking of searching high and low for longer dress options, and I'll definitely be heading to thrift shops to find them as I know I'll find some pretty editions there.
Before I end this post, I just want to say a huge thank you to Bear Heart Vintage for supplying the outfits used for my last two posts. I'm so beyond thankful to work with the brands I do, and you guys are at the top of my best brands list. You blow me away with your unreal selection of vintage goods, and I'm so thankful to have got my hands on these pieces! Big love to you.
