Here we go, back to sharing my outfits and forgetting about my glorious holiday for a little while. Posting my travel photographs was a huge breath of fresh air for me, but getting back to what I know best is always exciting. It’s been ages since I’ve had an outfit on that’s made me want to get outside and shoot it in all of its glory. Sometimes I feel forced to take outfit snaps purely for content when actually the outfit itself isn’t the most wonderful or inspiring look in the world. I never wear anything I don’t like, but there are some clothes that just make you feel like a rockstar.
This outfit is just that, inspired by legend Elton John after watching his bio-pic a few weeks ago. Straight after feasting on the musical delight that was Rocketman, I hunted for sew-on patches and the perfect jacket to customise. If you’ve seen it, then you’ll know what look I’m talking about, as in one scene ‘Elton’ wears a denim jacket covered in various embroidered patches. Mine isn’t quite as fancy as the one in the film, it’s a work in progress and will slowly become more and more customised. Adding details onto items is a little addictive, as now I’m on the lookout for some bellbottoms that I can attach some seventies patches onto. Before we know it, my whole wardrobe will be customised!
I can’t leave this post and not talk about my little pink dress, because it’s been lingering around in my wardrobe for weeks now, I even took it on holiday with me but it didn’t see the light of day! It’s one of those beautiful pieces that you love the idea of having, but actually having the chance to wear it is a whole different story. I got bored of waiting around for a fancy party (when do I ever attend one of those anyway) and took it for a twirl on date night - a fancy-ish occasion. When you picture a dress like this, you automatically envision it in a formal environment, like a wedding for example. But, add some casual pieces and you’ve got yourself a playful look for both daytime and evening. I’ve made this look, even more, Elton inspired with it’s a flamboyant charm and garish accessories - whats more Elton John than big sunglasses and chunky heels?!
