Who doesn’t love IT Girl, Emma Louise Connolly? She’s currently taking the world by storm in so many ways, my favourite being her collaborations with Nasty Gal. As a brand, Nasty Gal are up there as my favourite, they read my mind and bring out pieces that could of been made for me. So, when I saw Emma had released a collection along side them, I knew it would be seriously bad-ass.
What I adore about Emma is her ability to change up her style all the time. One day she’s the queen of street-wear, the next she's a bohemian dream. She knowns exactly how to style up any trend and looks incredible when doing so. I could go on and on about the serious crush I have on this woman, but don't worry I’ll refrain and talk about her collections instead…
The piece I had my eye on is actually from her second stock drop, round one must of gone so well she just had to do another (thank goodness!). I did manage to pick up an incredible zebra print coat from the first launch, which hasn’t featured over here but you can see it on my Instagram feed. I was so in love with the first selection of pieces that hearing about another was music to my ears!
This time the drop showcased a huge array of sequins, suits and velvet, basically everything you need for the upcoming party season. I know it’s still a little early to talk about ‘party season’, but it’s ideal to get a head start on the festive madness, I always think it’s best to get it done and dusted so you’re ready for those unexpected invites. No one wants FOMO because you’ve got no time to find an outfit! I’m getting myself prepared early this year so if anyone has an event to invite me too, I am so ready thanks to the help of Nasty Gal.
I wanted to go for something mini and glittery, like it was made in the 90’s. I’ve gone for a Paris Hilton meets Kate Moss look, taking an iconic Paris Hilton-esque clubbing dress and making it tougher with my vintage biker jacket and go-go boots, which are also new in Nasty Gal FYI. I accessorised last minute (I was literally walking out the door) with my boyfriends tiger print skinny scarf for added Moss vibes.
Sometimes the thought of getting glam is daunting, but I’ve definitely become more comfortable with party-wear as I’ve gotten older. A few years ago I wouldn’t of even dreamt of wearing anything like this, Paris Hilton would of even been an unlikely style icon for me. I’m forever changing and my style is always evolving, and I love that I’m now confident when wearing pieces like this. I’m grateful we have muses like Emma and brands like Nasty Gal to bring out some of the coolest clothes on the high-street.
The collection is selling fast, so catch it while you can. If you’ve just missed it, the ‘New In’ section is always a winner. Hell, I’m trying so hard to resist it right now!
